Help for Homeschool Parents: A Homeschool Rescue Review

I recently had the opportunity to review Homeschool Rescue, a wonderful new online course for homeschool parents, created by homeschool mom and Only Passionate Curiosity founder Heather Aliano.

What is Homeschool Rescue?
Homeschool Rescue is a self-paced online course for parents that will help you get your homeschool back on track. This course will help you identify trouble spots in your day and assist you in coming up with a plan to make your day go smoothly.
We all have those points in the day where it is easy to get derailed. In my home, sometimes we have a really hard time coming back to schoolwork after our lunch break. Going through this course made me realize that the problem wasn’t the kids…it was me! Once I identified the root of the problem, it was easy to implement a solution.
Homeschool Rescue consists of online videos, homework assignments, and a private Facebook group. The Facebook group is a wonderful resource. It is nice to be surrounded by other homeschool parents who are either going through the same thing or have completed the course.
This is the place to ask questions, clear up any homework assignments that you don’t quite understand, and to get general homeschool help. Heather created this group to be a judgment-free zone, so you don’t need to worry about posting.
Who will benefit from Homeschool Rescue?
Honestly, I think every homeschool parent will benefit from this course. New homeschool parents can get started on the right foot by creating a distraction-free zone with their home and homeschool supplies organized from the beginning. Homeschool veterans will find fixes to problem areas. Even little tweaks and tips can make a huge difference.
I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on the teaching and organizational aspects of homeschooling, but I still learned a great deal from this course. I implemented a few changes immediately and will be implementing a few more in the fall.
How to use Homeschool Rescue
Homeschool Rescue is self-paced, but a calendar schedule with boxes to check off is provided to help guide you through the course. I found that loosely following the calendar worked best for me. I aimed to complete all of a week’s assignments (videos and homework) within the week, but moved the days around to fit my schedule.
The calendar is provided to help you move through the program, not to add stress.
My preferred time to watch the Homeschool Rescue videos was early morning. My children were still sleeping, and my house was quiet, so this time was perfect. I was able to pour a hot cup of coffee and give the lesson my full attention. The videos are the perfect length for busy homeschool parents – most are under 20 minutes.
Heather is very personable, so listening to the videos feels like getting advice from an old friend.
Homeschool Rescue is available for only a limited time. Heather opens enrollment for only a short time so that she is able to best help all of the students. Enrollment for the summer session closes May 31st! I highly recommend you sign up for the summer session. This will allow you to start the new school year refreshed in the fall. You will have lifetime access to the course material and Facebook group to keep you on the right track.
