November Book Basket

The flip of the calendar page always means a new collection of books in our house. November first means putting away the spooky Halloween books and bringing out the fall and Thanksgiving books for our November book basket.
Each month I like to put together a basket full of seasonally themed books. This basket lives in our living room next to our fireplace.
I don’t require my children to read any of the books, but do hope to tempt them to read a few stories during either their free time or nightly 20 minutes of reading time.
You don’t need to spend a fortune to build a seasonal book collection!
Some of these books are from my former kindergarten classroom, but others are finds from thrift stores and yard sales. Libraries are great sources of seasonal books too! Just be sure to reserve them ahead of time because they are always in high demand.
The books in our November book basket revolve around a few traditional November themes:
