Back to school time is busy – regardless of whether your kids are homeschooled or in public school. One way I save time and money is to do my back to school shopping on Amazon.
Ordering school supplies in bulk on Amazon means that I won’t run out of supplies half way through a lap book project or paper in the middle of printing new pages for my lesson plan binder. Shopping online is also handy because I can do it while wearing pajamas and drinking tea after my kids are in bed. I can comparison shop while watching Netflix. There are no crowded check out lanes. It is a much more pleasant experience.
I usually order my groceries online, so why not order my school supplies online too?
These are my favorite school and office supplies on Amazon.

Some projects just do better with liquid glue instead of glue sticks. Our glue disappears very quickly now that my daughter is obsessed with making slime.
Scissors always seem to disappear in my house. Buying them in bulk means that I can always find scissors when I need them. I even put one with my gift wrapping supplies.
I am picky about the brand of pencils we use. These pencils seem to sharpen well and don’t break as often as cute character pencils.
I like to keep a variety of pen colors in my school writing center. My kids don’t mind editing their work if they can use their favorite color.
Buying crayons in bulk means that I can keep a pack in my school tote, each child’s pencil box, and use them as gift accessories through out the year.
Another advantage of doing back to school shopping online is the availability of hard to find products. These markers are my absolute favorite because they won’t dry out easily, but I have never seen them in a physical store. The marker cap can be left off for an entire week without any difference in quality.
Printer paper is something that I always buy in bulk. It generally gets cheaper the more you buy and I know we will eventually use it.
Printing lesson plans, coloring pages, lapbook pages, free printables, and etc. uses up a lot of ink. I once had to run to the library to print boarding passes just minutes before closing time because we ran out of ink before I expected. Ever since then I make sure to have at least one spare of each printer ink cartridge.
We use dry erase markers every single day in our homeschool. I use them to write on the large white board in our school area, my kids use them on their personal size white boards, we use them on our magnetic refrigerator calendar, and my husband even has a white board in his home office. Buying in bulk is the only way for us to never run out.
My husband will tell you that binders are my favorite organizational tool and he is right. It has become a bit of a joke in our family because I have a binder for everything.
We always find a use for folders in my homeschool. They are a great way to organize papers, create a study notebook to master a skill, and are necessary for most lap books.
