The Christmas season can be a really fun time of year to homeschool. It can also be a really stressful time of year to homeschool. There are so many festive activities that we want to do, but time is short and days are busy. Homeschool moms and dads are busy people!

This homeschool Christmas planner is different than other free Christmas planners I have seen. It is specifically a homeschool planner with a Christmas spin. You won’t find gift budgets and a shopping list. Instead, this Christmas planner is designed to help you organize your Christmas lesson plans and activities.

Christmas Activities Checklist

Keep track of all of the Christmas activities, big and small, you want to do this year. The checklist is blank so you have plenty of space to write down the activities that sound like fun to your family. Every family enjoys different Christmas traditions!

Monthly Calendars

Monthly calendars are crucial during busy seasons. They give you a large picture of the month in a quick glance. Avoid double booking or packing your weeks too tight by keeping your calendar up to date.

Of course, Christmas activities are not always contained to just the December calendar, so the homeschool Christmas planner contains monthly calendars for November, December, and January.

Weekly Planners

I included two weekly planner formats in this homeschool Christmas planner. Use whichever one fits your needs best!

Format 1: Minimalist Weekly Planner

This weekly planner has a space for each day of the week and a box for important notes.

This weekly planner might be a good option for someone who wants to have a general plan for the week but doesn’t need to see all of the details.

Format 2: Weekly Activities Planner

This planner format has space for:

  • Weekly activities list
  • Weekly calendar
  • Notes
  • Books to read
  • Supplies needed

The weekly activities planner might be a good option for someone who plans to do daily activities leading up to Christmas but has a pretty full weekly schedule.

Daily Plans

The daily plan sheet is how I organized the Christmas activities I did with my kids when they were young. It lets you get all of the planning out of your head so you can relax.

The daily plan page gives you space to jot down:

  • Activity
  • Books
  • Events
  • Supplies
  • Notes

Not every day needs an activity, books, and events! However, there is space available, because sometimes it is nice to tie activities and or events in with a book. Knowing which supplies will be needed is really helpful if you want to get everything together the night or morning before.

Christmas Poetry Teatime

Christmas poetry teatime is a fun homeschool tradition. It is perfect for the week before you start Christmas break when you want to still get schoolwork done, but everyone has already mentally shifted into Christmas.

Reading Christmas poetry is a great way to combine language arts and Christmas.

This planner page has space for:

  • Poems
  • Treats
  • Decor
  • Guests

Decor and guests are optional but can be fun. Nearby extended family or homeschool friends might really enjoy being included in this holiday teatime.

Last year we used the holiday poetry teatime guide from Literary Adventures for Kids for our Christmas poetry teatime. It was really handy having this special poetry with tea already planned! Writing down the poetry compilation books, treats you want to serve, decor ideas, and guests to invite makes it stress-free.

Free Homeschool Resources for Christmas

Christmas Book List

When my kids were little, I wrapped up 24 Christmas books. I labeled them 1 – 24, and we unwrapped one to read every day in the month of December from the first through Christmas Eve. Here are free printable Christmas labels for the books.

Sometimes I was organized enough to match up a picture book with a related Christmas activity, but other days the book was selected just because I thought my kids would enjoy it.

This book list has space for you to list the books you want to read. Many families include Christmas library books in their Advent book traditions, so there is space to note if a book has been reserved and a space to note that it has been returned.

Tip – Reserve holiday books early and include them in the first week or two. This gives you time to read and return them (no late fees) while also giving another family a chance to read them before Christmas too.

Christmas Movies Watchlist

Christmas movies can absolutely be a part of Christmas homeschooling. This homeschool Christmas planner page gives you space to list the movies, shows, or even YouTube episodes you want to watch this holiday season.
